Ingredients

1 ⅔ cup all-purpose flour
½ teaspoon baking powder
¼ teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
½ cup unsalted butter, melted
1 cup sugar
1 egg
¼ cup vanilla yogurt (Regular or Greek)
¾ cup milk
2 teaspoon vanilla extract
One of the only cake recipes you will ever need! Such an easy and delicious recipe for any vanilla cake dessert. Top it off with the icing of your choice.

Instructions

1.Preheat oven to 350°.
2.In a large bowl, sift the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt together. Set aside.
3.In a separate medium-sized bowl, whisk the butter, sugar, egg, yogurt, milk and vanilla. Once combined, fold the wet ingredients into the dry.
4.CAKE
5.Prepare your cake pan(s) by spraying the pans with cooking spray and coat them in flour.
6.Evenly pour the batter into the pan(s) and bake for about 30-40 minutes.
7.Cool on a wire rack before storing or icing.
8.CUPCAKES
9.Line your cupcake tin with wrappers. Evenly pour the batter using a cookie scoop or ice cream scoop into each cupcake holder.
10.Bake for about 15-20 minutes. Let them cool on a wire rack before storing or icing.

Notes

  • If you are making mini cakes, the recipe should be good for about two, but if you want to make a full-sized layered cake, I would recommend doubling the recipe.
  • If you really want to make the vanilla pop, you can add the seeds from a vanilla bean to the wet ingredients along with the vanilla extract.
