Ingredients

¾ cup unsalted butter, room temperature
3 cups powdered sugar
2-3 tablespoons heavy cream
4-5 teaspoons vanilla extract
Pinch of salt
The perfect light and fluffy icing for any cake or cupcake.

Instructions

1.Using a stand mixer, beat the butter until fluffy. Add powdered sugar and mix until well combined.
2.Add the heavy cream, vanilla, and salt to the butter mixture.
3.Beat on medium for 2 minutes; then on high for another 2 minutes; finally on medium for 1 minute.

Notes

  • The perfect light and fluffy icing for any cake or cupcake.
  • If you love vanilla as much as we do, go ahead and add more! Feeling fancy? Use actual vanilla bean.
  • This recipe can be used as a base for almost any buttercream icing; just reduce the amount of vanilla extract to 2 teaspoons, and add in whatever flavoring you choose.
