Ingredients

1/2 pint fresh strawberries
1/2 cup blanco tequila
1.5 oz. Cointreau or Triple Sec
Juice of 1 lime
1 tablespoon agave
2-3 basil sprigs
Salt or sugar for rim
Light and refreshing. This Strawberry Margarita is both sweet and tart and fun variation of the classic margarita.

Instructions

1.Pour about ¼ cup of salt or sugar onto a small plate. Rub a lime wedge around the edge of the glasses. Dip each glass in salt or sugar to rim the edges. Fill each glass with ice.
2.Place the strawberries, tequila, cointreau or triple sec, lime juice and agave into a blender. Blend until the strawberries are pulverized.
3.Shake well until chilled, about 20 seconds. Pour into prepared glass.
4.Chop the basil and place into the bottom of a cocktail shaker and muddle the basil to release the flavors and oils. Pour the blended margarita ingredients into the cocktail shaker and shake well. Pour into salted, iced glasses and serve immediately.

  • So simple to make full of flavor and perfect for enjoying out on your deck!
  • When you use the blender it creates a bit of a pulp texture.  If that’s not your thing you can definitely strain the strawberry mixture before adding it to your cocktail shaker.
  • You don’t need to use a blender – add strawberries and basil to cocktail shaker and muddle to the consistency of your liking.  Then add remaining ingredients and shake well.
