Ingredients

1 package Hawaiian rolls
8 tablespoons butter, 1 stick, unsalted and melted
2 cloves garlic, minced
12 meatballs, homemade or store bought
1 cup jarred marinara sauce
2 cups shredded mozzarella or provolone
2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped, optional
Parmesan cheese, optional
A modern twist on a classic meatball parm sandwich without all the mess! These meatball sliders are cheesy and saucy and full of garlic, so basically heaven!

Instructions

1.Combine the melted butter and garlic in a small ball. Whisk together.
2.Using a knife, cut a hole in the top of each roll, big enough to stuff your meatball into.
3.Place the rolls on a baking sheet and generously brush the garlic butter on both the inside and outside of the rolls.
4.Place the rolls in the oven and bake for about 10 minutes or until they start to slightly brown.
5.Remove the rolls from the oven. Spoon about 1 tablespoon of marinara sauce into each roll, then add a meatball into each roll.
6.Add another tablespoon or so of marinara sauce over each meatball. Cover all the rolls with your cheesee.
7.Bake for about 10 minutes or until the cheese is nice and bubbly. Garnish with parmesan cheese and parsley if desired.

Notes

  • This house loves a good meatball sub but can agree that they can be hard to eat without falling apart!  These little sliders are perfect and easy to eat.
  • I generally make my own meatballs but store bought work great too.  Whatever your preference is! If you want to make your own here is my favorite recipe Sunday Meatballs
  • You can use either mozzarella or provolone to top these beauties or you can get real crazy and use both.
  • Any sauce works. I just use whatever I have on hand.
  • Do not skip the garlic butter step – it’s a real game changer.
  • Prep and cooking time will vary depending on wether or not you are making meatballs or using pre-made ones.
