Ingredients

18 ounce block feta cheese, cut into bite size pieces
1 large egg
¼ cup bread crumbs
1 teaspoon salt
½ cup sesame seeds, optional
¼ cup all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon paprika
½ cup vegetable
Honey to drizzle on top
You cannot make enough of these. The saltiness combined with the sweet honey is just so good. Perfect as an appetizer or as part of your Mediterranean dinner or Meza platter.

Instructions

1.Cut the feta into small bite size cubes.
2.Create your dredging station by adding the egg to a small bowl and whisk it with a splash of water. In a separate rimmed dish, add the flour and paprika. Add the bread crumbs, salt and sesame seeds to a third rimmed dish.
3.Coat each piece of feta with the egg mixture, then roll in the flour, tapping off any excess. Dip back into the egg mixture and then coat evenly with the breadcrumbs. Place each prepared cube on a clean plate. Repeat with the remaining cubes.
4.In a medium skillet, heat oil over medium heat. Place the breaded feta pieces in the oil and fry in small batches until all sides are golden brown (about 2-3 minutes). Place the fried feta cubes on a paper towel-lined plate to absorb excess oil. You can also use a cooling rack over a baking sheet.
5.Drizzle with honey. Serve while hot and enjoy!

Notes

  • You cannot make enough of these. The saltiness combined with the sweet honey is just so good.  Perfect as an appetizer or as part of your Mediterranean dinner or Meza platter.
  • You can make these larger if you want, but I like the smaller ones as each piece gets perfectly coated with the breadcrumb mixture.
  • You can omit the sesame seed if you don’t have any on hand or just don’t care for them. They are delicious either way.
