Ingredients

2 tablespoons butter
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup milk
¼ cup corn starch slurry
3 oz. cream cheese
1 cup prepared pesto
½ cup grated Parmesan
Family-favorite alert...my kids absolutely love pesto. We pretty much always have it on hand at our house.  Turning it into a creamy pesto sauce only makes it better!

Instructions

1.In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes.
2.Make a quick cornstarch slurry by combining 1 tablespoon cornstarch and 2 tablespoons of cold water in a small bowl. Mix until cornstarch dissolves into the water. Set aside.
3.Add milk and cream cheese, stirring frequently. Once the cream cheese is melted, lower heat and stir in cornstarch slurry. Sauce will start to thicken. Add pesto and mix well.
4.Remove from heat and stir in the Parmesan cheese.
5.Serve over your choice of pasta and enjoy!

  • This sauce is so quick and easy that you will find yourself making it at least once a week. We love to use it for another family favorite, Chicken Pesto Pasta.
  • You can make your own pesto. It’s very easy, but this recipe works great with store-bought pesto too. Honestly, I make my own in the summer, and I use store-bought in the winter.
  • I like to use herbed-flavored cream cheese sometimes to give it a little extra flavor.
