Ingredients

1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup water
8 cinnamon sticks
4 star anise
6 cloves
5 cups apple cider
2 cup bourbon
1 1/2 cup fresh orange juice
1/2 Cointreau
The perfect fall punch for a large group! The spiced rosemary simple syrup combined with the apple cider adds perfect notes of fall flavors to the bourbon.

Instructions

1.Start by making the simple syrup. Combine the water, sugar, spices, and rosemary in a small pot. Stir together and heat until the sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat and let cool.
2.Add the apple cider, bourbon, orange juice and Cointreau to a punch bowl.
3.Add in the cooled simple syrup and mix well. Add the prosecco right before serving.
4.Garnish with apple and orange slices, cinnamon sticks and star anise.

Notes

  • This is such a great way to enjoy bourbon during the fall and winter months.  A great holiday drink for all your get togethers.
  • Take it up a notch and make an ice mold to put in your punch bowl  I used a bunt pan, filled it with water and added star anise, cinnamon sticks and orange slices. Not only does it look great but it keeps the punch cold since the large piece of ice takes a long time to melt.
  • You can substitute triple sec for Cointreau if needed.
  • If you don’t like too much sweetness you can reduce the amount of simple syrup or apple cider.
