Ingredients

½ cup butter – you can add more to taste after sauce thickens
2 cups heavy whipping cream
4 – 6 ounces cream cheese
2 garlic gloves, minced
1 tablespoon garlic powder
¼ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon pepper
1 cup grated parmesan cheese
Parsley, chopped
Lemon, optional
Trust me when I say using cream cheese to make Alfredo sauce makes it so smooth and creamy.

Instructions

1.In a medium-sized saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute.
2.Add heavy whipping cream and cream cheese and whisk until smooth and melted.
3.Add the garlic powder and salt. Continue whisking until smooth. Add the grated parmesan cheese and stir until it is combined.
4.Bring to a low simmer and continue to cook for about 3-5 minutes or until it starts to thicken.
5.Toss with your favorite pasta and top with fresh lemon juice and parsley.

Notes

  • Trust me when I say using cream cheese to make Alfredo sauce makes it so smooth and creamy.
  • I love parmesan cheese, and so does my family. I add extra parmesan cheese to this recipe.
  • I like to add some lemon to this before serving to add some acidity and lighten the sauce just a little bit.
  • If you have leftovers, and I mean if, it’s best to add a little milk to it when reheating so it doesn’t dry out.
